Black Ridge
Overlooking the beautiful Pukenui Forest, our elevated Northland site tops a ridge - the last natural boundary between subdivided pasture and untouched forest.

An internally exposed 30m insitu concrete wall anchors it down into the northern ridge, creating a strong division between town behind and forest before. The pavilion style house stretches along this axis maximising the interior exposure to the forest, while taking advantage of the minimal building footprint the slope allowed.
The result is a well functioning family home that displays the raw natural materials and colours in a rural modern style. An architectural experience that is solid, grounded and provides a strong sense of refuge.
